Notre Dame University: The Most Programs With Beautiful View

Established in 1842, University of Notre Dame du lac or simply Notre Dame University is a private coeducational university in Indiana. Notre Dame means Our Lady in French which refer to Virgin Mary. The university’s motto Vita Dulcedo Spes meaning Life, Sweetness, Hope also refers the Blessed Virgin Mary. Initially it is all male school but now almost half of its students are female. Notre Dame is popular for Notre Dame School of Architecture since it teaches urban planning and pre modern architecture. Fighting Irish is the University’s athletic team while Independent is the football team that has been winning national championships and trophy.

Location And Facilities

Notre Dame University is located in Notre Dame, Indiana, north of South Bend and near Michigan State Line. The area includes administration office, church, seminaries, two lakes and a replica of Lourdes, France called Grotto to Our Lady of Lourdes. The University is known to have the most beautiful view in the United States. The new buildings include the Jordan Hall of Science, the Guglielmino Complex, and the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. There are also a law school addition, hockey arena, the Mendoza College of Business Executive Education Department, and housing for undergraduate women.

Student Center

A four story building of 83,000 square feet called the Student Center of LaFortune or LaFun is built in Notre Dame University to support community with a meeting place for recreational, social, educational activities, and cultural. It houses a number of services, Divisions of Student affairs, businesses, and national restaurant chains.

Colleges And Degrees

There are 20 departments including fine arts, humanities, and social sciences, and awards Bachelor of Arts degrees in 33 majors. The College of Science in Notre Dame University includes six departments of study, mathematics, chemistry, physics, pre-professional studies, biology, and computational mathematics and statistics for Bachelor of Science degrees. A five-year undergraduate program is needed for the School of Architecture to get the Bachelor of Architecture degree. The College of Engineering includes five departments of study, aerospace and mechanical engineering, civil engineering and geological sciences, chemical and bimolecular engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science and engineering. The Mendoza College of Business offers degrees in management, accountancy, finance, and marketing. Graduate degrees include Master of Arts, Master of Laws, Master of Civil Engineering, Doctorate (PhD) degrees and Master of Divinity (M.Div.). Notre Dame also offers a Master of Architecture, MBA and Master of Science in Accountancy programs.
